WORKSHOP/COURSE TERMS & CONDITIONS

By booking a workshop/course with R L Foote Design Studio, you are agreeing to the following terms.


Materials and equipment

  • Students will be supplied with all required materials by R L Foote Design Studio. If a student requires extra clay for their projects, additional clay can be purchased by the student.

  • R L Foote Design Studio will fire all final ceramic pieces made by students this excludes test and experimental pieces made during the class. 

  • All fired ceramic pieces made by students must be picked up from the studio within 2 weeks from the time they come out of the kiln. R L Foote Design Studio will email you when your ceramic pieces have been fired. We will do our best to fire all your ceramics within 2 weeks of the completion of your class.

  • R L Foote Design Studio is not responsible for breakages of students’ work during the production and firing process. 

  • All moulds made during courses or in Open Studio must be taken home for storage. We will keep moulds for 2 weeks after the Mould Making Workshop thereafter the moulds that have not been collected will be disposed of. We are not responsible for any damage that occurs to moulds on-site.

    Cancellation terms for students

  • If you are a student participating in a stand alone class, or a 6-week course and are unable to attend a class, please let us know as soon as possible whether you would like to cancel or reschedule your upcoming class.

  • You will need to notify us by emailing glazelab@rlfootedesign.com.au prior to the class, please allow the required notice below:

    • 72 hours before cancelling a class, or we will be unable to provide a refund and you forfeit the cost of the class

    • 24 hours notice for a rescheduling of a class to a future time

  • Not attending a class and not communicating with us about it within the above notice periods will result in the forfeit of your payment in full. 

  • For students of the stand alone classes, we offer you the option to transfer your booking into another name, e.g. for a friend or family member to attend in your place.

  • For students of the 6-week course, please note that a maximum of one class out of the six can be rescheduled without incurring an additional cost.

  • If you have rescheduled a previous class and need to do so again, this will incur a cost of 50% of one class ($65) from you. We can, however, offer you a refund of 50% of one class ($65) if you decide to cancel the rescheduled class with enough notice.



    Cancellation due to a lack of enrolled students
     

  • In the event that R L Foote Design Studio has to cancel a class due to the required minimum enrolment numbers not being met, we may cancel the class. 

  • We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible to inform you that the class has been cancelled and offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to the next available opening, to receive a credit note to the same value to be used at R L Foote Design Studio, or a full refund within 3 months of the original class purchase date.


    Cancellation due to unwell teacher

  • If the teacher is unable to teach a class due to illness or other reasonable personal circumstances, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and the class will be rescheduled.


    Consent to photography during class

  • R L Foote Design Studio will take photos and video footage during workshops/classes. These photographs may be used as promotional material or across our social media channels or website and may include your work, your hands or your face. 

    Please inform our staff if you do not consent to your image being taken or published.


    Other terms

    R L Foote Design Studio moulds and designs remain the intellectual property of R L Foote Design Studio. These designs may not be resold or represented to be the property of the student.

    Your private information will not be shared with a third party.
